Carolyn (Wood) Gleason
Carolyn (Wood) Gleason, 72, died early Friday morning at Penacook Place.
Mrs. Gleason was the wife of
George W. Gleason.
Born in Haverhill October 4, 1935, Mrs. Gleason was the daughter of the
late Thomas L. and Minerva (Allen) Wood. Educated in Haverhill she graduated
from Haverhill High School class of 1953, and continued her schooling
at MacIntosh Business School. Mrs. Gleason had worked as a realtor for
Arthur Bonin Real Estate Co., and then worked fifteen years as Executive
Secretary for the Salem New Hampshire Board of Realtors. In retirement
she had worked as a bus monitor for Coppola Bus Co. She was a former member
of First Congregational Church where she was married, and sang in the
choir, and member of Fidelity Chapter #39, Order of Rainbow for Girls.
She had been active in the Hannah Duston School PTA, enjoyed both horseback
riding and square dancing, socializing, and traveling with her husband.
She enjoyed many summer days boating with family and friends in Newburyport.
Carolyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother
and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Beside her husband of fifty-three years Mrs. Gleason is survived by her
son Thomas R. Gleason and his wife Sally of Haverhill; granddaughters
Kara Gleason and her husband Chris Kinney of Haverhill, Danielle Gleason
of Portland, ME, and sister Roslin Esposito and her husband Ralph of Plum
Island and Marathon, FL. She was the sister of the late Thomas Wood.
Friends are invited to the funeral Thursday 7:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs
& Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street,
Haverhill. Interment in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours
will precede the funeral from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
