Charles E.“Chuck” Eubanks

YORK, ME: Charles E.“Chuck” Eubanks, 76, formerly of Haverhill, died August 6th at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Mr. Eubanks was the husband of Theresa D. (Valenti) Eubanks.

Born in Augusta, GA on November 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Eulie and Minnie (Herron) Eubanks.

During the Korean Conflict Chuck served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Hugh Purvis (DD 709) before his discharge in 1954. Ultimately his work career ended at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he worked as an electronics technician for 26 years before retiring.

Chuck was a member of the VFW, Amvet’s and the Plaistow Fish and Game Club. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in Melbourne Beach, FL.

Besides his wife of 55 years he is survived by his sons Richard W. Eubanks and wife Kim of Haverhill, Edward J. Eubanks and wife Samantha of Hampton, VA; grandchildren Steven, Kristen and William Eubanks; sisters Dorothy Daniels of Weldon, NC, Ruby Robins of Augusta, GA; brother William Eubanks of Waynesboro, GA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Robert, Leroy and Martin Eubanks.

Friends are invited to the funeral Monday, August 11th, 10:00 am at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Linwood Cemetery.
