Claudette “Jean” (Hall) Hoss

HAVERHILL: Claudette “Jean” (Hall) Hoss, 70, died Jan.27, 2010, in the peaceful surroundings of her home with her loving family present.

Born in Amesbury on August 8, 1939, Jean was the daughter of the late Howard W. and Charlotte M.  (Bushong) Hall.

Upon her graduating from Haverhill High School, Class of 1958 she worked at various shoe manufacturers including Allen Shoe. Jean then began a career at Western Electric where she worked as a quality control inspector for 26 years before retiring in 2001. She had been a member of First Baptist Church for forty years, and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Lady’s Bible Study. She was a member to the telephone Pioneers of America, and enjoyed league bowling at Pilgrim Lanes. Her family was the focus of her life and she enjoyed the time spent together.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Patricia Burrill and Lorraine “Lori” Lavallee, both of Haverhill; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sisters, Maxine Raymond and her husband Robert of Beech Grove, IN, Patricia A. Leone of Haverhill; son-in-law Dana Burrill of Haverhill; dear friend Muriel French of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited the Memorial Service Sunday, January 31, 2010, 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Calling hours, at the church, will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment at Linwood Cemetery will be private. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 217 Main Street, Haverhill, MA 01830, or Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3400, Woburn, MA 01801.
