Elizabeth P. “Betty” Miller

WEST NEWBURY: Elizabeth P. “Betty” Miller, 90, died November 26, 2009 at Country Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Newburyport. Mrs. Miller was the wife of the late free lance artist and TV personality Edmund G. “Ted” Miller.  

Born in Haverhill on December 12, 1918, Betty was the daughter of the late David W. and Florence E. (Daniels) Peel.

Betty was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1936. While living in Haverhill she was a member of the First Congregational Church where she had sung in the choir. Prior to her marriage at the church in 1942, Betty and Ted had been members of The North Church Players. She and her husband had moved from Long Island, NY to West Newbury in 1946 where she had lived for 64 years. She had worked as a Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in the  town for twenty years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Bradford Country Club.

Betty is survived by her son, Grant W. Miller of West Newbury; daughters, Susan Miller and her husband Joe Edwards of Michigan, Marilyn Miller of Bradford; granddaughter, Megan Wierenga and her husband Keith of Michigan; great
grandson Miller Ryan Wierenga; sister-in-law, Francesca Lane of Newbury, MA, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was
the sister of the late Kenneth Leroy Kimball, Robert Benson Kimball and Dennison K. Peel.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Wednesday, December 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral
Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Linwood Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to GAR Memorial Library, 490 Main Street, West Newbury, MA 01985.
