Edward R. “Rich” O’Leary

ATKINSON, NH- Edward R. “Rich” O’Leary, 66, longtime resident of Atkinson, NH, passed away Thursday evening, November 19, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington.

Mr. O’Leary was born in Winchester on October 22, 1943. Son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Higgins)
O’Leary. Rich was raised in Melrose, attended local schools and was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. He continued his education at Burdette College. He then married his wife of 37 years, Rosemary B. (Licciardello) O’Leary, and began to raise their family in Atkinson, NH.

Mr. O’Leary worked for many years as an Account Manager for the Gilman Paper Co. of New York City. As well as several other paper manufacturing firms. Rich always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a man that would do anything for anybody. Loved conversation and being active in town. Rich served on several committees with the Town of Atkinson, that included the Ethics, Budget, and Conservation Committees. He also enjoyed spending his time at the family’s property in Alton, NH.

Most of all, Rich cherished his wife Rosemary, his daughters, and especially his granddaughters. Mr. O’Leary’s surviving family members include his loving wife, Rosemary B. (Licciardello) O’Leary of Atkinson, NH; daughters, Lori A. Petersen and her husband Troy R. of Salem, NH, Lisa O. Conlan and her
husband Andy C. of Virginia, and Kristin M. O’Leary and her boyfriend, Steven G. Dardas of No. Andover;
granddaughters, Olivia and Julia Petersen and Addison Conlan; several nieces and nephews; and sister in-law, Linda O’Leary. He was the brother of the late Donald O’Leary.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, November 24, 2009 beginning in the Dole, Childs and Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Avenue (Rte. 97), Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Atkinson Cemetery, Main Street, Atkinson, NH. Calling hours will be held Monday in the Dole, Childs and Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street (Rte. 125), Haverhill, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Contributions in Rich’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street,
Framingham, MA 01701.
