Georgine F. Jellison
HAVERHILL: Georgine F. Jellison, 83, died January 10, 2011 at Merrimack Valley Hospital.
Born in Haverhill on March 12, 1927, Miss Jellison was the daughter of the late George F. and Mildred L. (Woodburn) Jellison, and the sister of the late Constance M. Weghorst and Bernice Hankins.
Georgine was a member of Haverhill High School, Class of 1947 where she was in the Chorus. After high school, Jean worked in a nursing home where she lovingly cared for the elderly. Jean also did childcare for a time.
Georgine attended the Center Congregational Church where she attended Sunday school and sang in the choir. In 1945 Georgine was baptized and became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a Bible believing woman of strong faith who loved the Lord.
Georgine loved her family. Though she never had children of her own she was always a "second mother" to her seven nephews and nieces and their children. She taught them the lessons she lived: being kind, compassionate and forgiving to everyone.
Georgine enjoyed knitting, reading, playing the organ and singing. She had a special love for children and animals. Georgine never missed family birthdays as there was always a card from her. She was so dear, much loved and will be sadly missed always.
