Joseph J. "Joe" Maloney
LYNN: Joseph J. "Joe" Maloney, 54, passed away suddenly at his home on June 17, 2011.
Born in Brockton, MA on May 5, 1957, he was the son of Mary
E. (Hurley) Maloney, and the late Charles L. Maloney of Avon.
Joe graduated from Avon High School, Class of 1975, where was an outstanding basketball and soccer player. He entered the U.S. Army, served in Kentucky and Europe as a Military Policeman, and was honorably discharged in 1979 with the rank of SP4. He enjoyed cooking and was a chef in various restaurants for over twenty-seven years. Joe was known for hs quick wit and was an avid sports fan particularly enjoying the Celtics. He enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and keeping up with current affairs.
Joe is survived by his mother Mary and brothers, Charles Maloney of Gainesville, FL, Peter Maloney and his companion Diane of Tequesta, FL, Thomas J. Maloney and his wife Danielle of Groveland, MA, James Maloney of Easton, MA; sisters, Mary Kathleen Savini and her husband John of Marshfield, MA, Jane E. Tutino and her husband John of Vienna, VA, and nieces and nephews, Catherine, Nicole, Jack, Maria, Gabriella, Charlene, Billy, Chad, Matthew, Sara and Madeline, and will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 87 North Main St., Avon, MA. Interment at St Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill, MA. At the families request there will be no calling hours.
