Maria (Illes) Kun

LAWRENCE: Maria (Illes) Kun, 84, died peacefully on February 5, 2011 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Rezso Kun to whom she was married for fifty-four years.

She was born in Romania on November 16, 1926. Maria and her family left war torn Hungary in December of 1956 immigrating to America at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey. They were sponsored
by St. Augustine's Church of Andover, and lived in the town for sixteen years where she worked in the employ of many prominent family's before moving to Lawrence. Maria had worked in the "Deli" department at Purity Supreme in Salem, NH for twenty-one years before her retirement in 1988. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed working in flower gardens and feeding the birds at the park. She was a special
person to everyone who knew her.

Maria's family would like to thank the nurses and doctors from Russell Hall at Holy Family Hospital, as well as, ICU and CCU units. A special thank you to Dr. Juwen Lin. Maria is survived by her children, Rezso Kun and his wife JoAnne of Salem, NH, Joseph Kun and his wife Judy of Boynton Beach, FL, Laszlo Kun and his wife Mary of Bradford; grandchildren, Christine Kun of West Palm Beach, FL, Lisa
Doherty and her husband Jim of Hampton, NH, Cindy Fermoyle of Sandown, NH, Chris Kun and his wife Gina of Haverhill, Bill Lavallie and his wife Michele of Methuen, Keith Kun and his wife Libby of Wilmington and Brian Kun and his wife Jessica of Wales, MA; great grandchildren, Hannah Doherty,
Shannon & Brandon Fermoyle, Jacky Kun, Michael Lavallie, Kloey and Jadyn Kun. She was the grandmother of the late Ricky Fermoyle whom she loved dearly.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 12th, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford. At the family's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. #9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
