Futrell Veasey, a life long resident of Haverhill and a summer resident
of Squirrel Island, Maine died October 17, 2012. She was born Natalie
Margaret Futrell on January 14, 1926 the daughter of Susan
Whittaker and Little Berry Futrell.
A member of the
Haverhill High School, Class of 1943 she pursued her higher education
at Endicott Junior College. She was a World War 11 bride of
Navy Lieutenant (jg) Arthur Hale Veasey, Jr., also of Haverhill.
Mrs. Veasey was active
locally in volunteer work for the Florence Crittenden League
and later as a member of the Hale Hospital Auxiliary serving
as its Chairwoman in 1972. She especially delighter in her
role as a Cub Scout den mother and was a devoted member of the
First Universalist-Unitarian Church. Mrs.
Veasey is survived by her husband and loving family which
includes her daughter, Leslie Veasey Schade and her husband F.
Tucker of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, son, Arthur Hale Veasey 111
and his wife Susan of West Newbury and son, Robert Anderson
Veasey of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by five
grandchildren: Sylenda Schade Graf (Tom), Stephanie Schade
Thibodeau (Ray), F. Tucker Schade, Jr. (Beth), Helen Hale
Veasey and Robert Arthur Veasey as well as three great
grandsons, William Hale Thibodeau, Jackson Charles Graf and
Nicholas Schade Graf.
