Ruth E. "Mimi" (Hutton) Whiteley

HAMPSTEAD, NH: Ruth E. "Mimi" (Hutton) Whiteley, 87, died September 7, 2009 at Earnest P. Barka Assisted Living Facility in Brentwood, NH. She was born in Hampstead on October 18, 1921 to John and Emma Hutton, and was a lifelong resident. She was predeceased by her husband, Retired Major Brainard A. Whiteley. Ruth is a graduate of Hampstead High School, Class of 1940. She continued her education graduating from Wilfred Academy in Boston in 1943. Ruth was a member of the Hampstead Congregational Church, The Salem Athletic Club, and the Young Hearts Club. She enjoyed breakfast every morning at “The English Muffin” in Hampstead following her exercise class. She had a wonderful sense of humor and joyful heart. Most of all she will be remembered for her love of her family. She had a way of always becoming the life of the party.

Ruth’s family included her daughter Judith A. Dixon and her husband Doug of Derry, NH; son, John A.  Whiteley and his wife Jane of Bellevue, WA: six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Fred Hutton and his wife Marion of Stratham, NH, and several nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late John Hutton, Nancy Santos-West and Phyllis Hutton.

Friends are invited to attend the graveside service Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Lakeview
Cemetery in Hampstead. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rockingham VNA & Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833, or Earnest P. Barka Assisted Living Facility (The Activity Fund), 117 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
